National Council of Nonprofits Celebrates Multiple Leaders Named to NonProfit Times Power and Influence Top 50

Washington, D.C. – The National Council of Nonprofits (NCN) celebrated leaders from its staff and national network being named to the NonProfit Times Power and Influence Top 50Tim Delaney, President & CEO, and David L. Thompson, Vice President of Public Policy, are among those recognized, marking an unprecedented fourth year in a row that the NonProfit Times recognized multiple executives from one organization.

Delaney was recognized for the tenth time, while this was the fourth selection for Thompson.

In recognizing Delaney’s leadership, NPT noted, “It isn’t hyperbole when saying Delaney’s influence goes coast to coast. He has quietly put together an all-star team of influencers, work horses versus D.C. show horses.”

On Thompson’s influence on public policy matters, “Thompson crafted and then advanced policy solutions interwoven at the federal, state, and local levels to help ensure that nonprofits have the resources to deliver what individuals and communities need. That’s connection.”

The recognition from NPT is just the latest accolade for Perwaiz Syed, who has also been honored as an Aspen Ideas Scholar, Woman of Influence, 40 under 40, and a National Business Journal Influencer. She has also received a One Jax Humanitarian award. Regarding Perwaiz, the NonProfit Times noted she “united Florida’s nonprofits, making them a force on policy matters – not an easy feat given the vast geography.”

“It is an honor to be recognized with so many illustrious leaders from across the nonprofit sector, many of whom we get to work with on a regular basis,” said Delaney. “But the real power and influence come from those across the country, the leaders, staff, and board members of nonprofits who make a difference in their communities every day, coming together to advocate for the solutions and resources nonprofits need to advance their missions. I’m proud of all we’ve been able to accomplish together to connect, champion, and inform nonprofits nationwide.”
