Attendees Connect at the 2013 MNA ConferenceIn 2001, through a grassroots effort, the Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) emerged as a membership and nonprofit support organization founded on the belief that Montana’s vitality and livability – now and in the future – is ultimately dependent upon a strong nonprofit industry in the state.  Today, MNA’s 630 charitable nonprofit members represent organizations of all sizes and mission types from every corner of Montana. MNA provides leadership within and for the sector, partners with charitable nonprofits to promote a sustainable, networked, and influential nonprofit industry, and is recognized as the voice for Montana’s nonprofit sector.

We optimistically envision a future in which Montana’s nonprofits are widely celebrated, have the resources they need, and are made more resilient through their engagement with networks and partners both in and outside the sector. Within Montana’s large and diverse geography, MNA serves small, unstaffed organizations as well as some of the largest employers in the state, remote rural nonprofits as well as those in the seven population centers.

MNA has been integral to my development as an Executive Director and to the resulting success of my agency. The training, support and services offered have opened my eyes to new ways of doing things, to the importance of the nonprofit sector and, through advocacy efforts, to how much work we still must do to achieve a safe and just life for all. We can only achieve lofty goals together; MNA makes it possible - and makes it fun! Thanks, MNA!

Nonprofits value their membership with MNA for a variety of reasons. Some join because of the discount on education and training; others benefit from cost-savings they realize from MNA’s member products – savings that more than pay for membership dues; many appreciate their role as a member of Montana’s nonprofit policy voice; and yet others are leaders that recognize the value of having a visible, influential nonprofit sector in Montana – which only happens through a strong membership base.
