Description

Everything You Need to Know About the Exempt Salary Threshold Increase in Effect December 2018

Recent changes to exempt salary thresholds, that went into effect on December 31, 2017, change again on December 31, 2018. Employers whose exempt "administrative" and "executive" employees are currently paid less than the new salary thresholds must either increase those salaries to the new minimums or start paying the affected employees overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a work-week. We heard from you that these rules are confusing and you need more information. Because the next annual change is coming next month, NPCC is holding a special Forum to allow you to learn about the changes and how to manage and message them within your organization.

Join us on December 12, 2018 at 9.30 a.m. at NPCC, 135 West 36th Street, 15th Floor, New York, New York to hear a panel that will include:

  • Judith Moldover, Senior Staff Attorney, Lawyers Alliance for New York
  • Laurie Lessage, Director of Finance and Administration, Day One
  • Jen Thatcher, Chief of Staff and Director of Operations, Girl Be Heard

NPCC Forums are quarterly updates about policy issues affecting the whole nonprofit sector. These events are open to members and non-members and are free of charge. This session will be moderated by NPCC Chief Operations Officer Melkis Alvarez-Baez and will feature a panel of experts for an open discussion about the issues affecting New York nonprofits.

Please Note: This meeting is open to current NPCC nonprofit members and non-member organizations, and may be limited to ONE person per organization due to space constraints.
