Democrats chose Ned Lamont, who received 81% of the votes over Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim.

To be their running mates, Democrats chose former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz for Lieutenant Governor and Republicans chose State Senator Joe Markley.

In addition, Independent candidate Oz Griebel and his running mate Monte Frank announced last week they submitted more than 10,000 signatures to petition onto the ballot, pending certification by the Secretary of the State.

In the 5th Congressional District, vacated by Rep. Elizabeth Esty, who is not seeking reelection, Waterbury teacher Jahana Hayes received the Democratic nomination with 62% of the vote and former Meriden Mayor Manny Santos received the Republican nomination with 52% of the vote.
