Next Week: Board of Directors Days at the Capitol
Dear CEOs,
Beginning next week, we invite you and members of your Board of Directors to join us on either May 1, 2, or 3, to tell legislators that community services are essential and necessary and should be treated as fixed costs and off the table to budget cuts.
Our advocacy visibility shifts are two-hour shifts at 4pm, 6pm, or 8pm during legislative session(s) on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Capitol building. The objective is to talk to local legislators in the towns you live and work about how your organization helps the community and how their decisions impact your ability to meet community needs.
Board members are often an underused resource. As business leaders, community volunteers, philanthropists, opinion leaders and family advocates, they have the connections, confidence and respect needed to speak on behalf of their organizations. We hope they will add their voice to the hundreds of voices that delivered this advocacy message at our recent #IAmEssential Advocacy Day.
The Alliance public policy staff is eager and ready to help your board members successfully advocate on your behalf. Please RSVP to Jeff Shaw to sign-up for a shift (please include name, organization, email address and cell phone).
Best, Gian-Carl
