ADVOCACY CONNECTIONS – Fall 2019
Join us for our Advocacy Connection Series this fall, a free series of training, networking, learning and conversation. Advocacy Connections help us keep up with issues in the charitable sector both statewide and nationally and are designed to energize staff, volunteers, board members and clientele into action. We will concentrate on topics most relevant to preparing for the spring Legislative Session in Oklahoma, the 2020 Census and useful tactics for making your advocacy engagement more effective. All Advocacy Connections are free for members, and we encourage you to bring friends from the sector, board members and leadership staff. These sessions will be extended to encourage conversation and create connections.
All Advocacy Connections are 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. at the Center for Nonprofits unless we move the location.
Attendance is free. You must be a current OKCNP member, but please feel free to bring non-member guests with you. (

– Nonprofits COUNT! Gearing up for the 2020 Census with Donna Murray-Brown, President and CEO of the Michigan Nonprofit Association
The Census is one of the most important issues facing our nonprofit sector today. Each person not counted in the upcoming Census means a loss to Oklahoma of $1,800 in federal funding. For perspective, a 2.5% undercount would cost the state $180 million. Join us to hear our colleague Donna Murray-Brown from Michigan Nonprofit Association, one of the nation's top nonprofit leaders and expert on the Census.
