Two Leaders from the National Council of Nonprofits Named to Top 50 Power & Influence List by The NonProfit Times

Washington, DC – In an action rarely taken in the 22 years The NonProfit Times (NPT) has been honoring nonprofit leaders, this year NPT selected two executives from the same organization for recognition in its Top 50 Power & Influence list. Making the list this year are Tim Delaney, President and CEO, and David L. Thompson, Vice President of Public Policy, for the National Council of Nonprofits.

In recognizing Delaney and Thompson, NPT noted that “There simply is nobody better [than Tim] at translating what federal boondoggles mean to nonprofits at the state and local level. Nothing gets by him and his team…. Watch [David] pull together coalition after coalition to mobilize nonprofits to engage in federal as well as state legislative matters, always shining the light on others, rather than claiming any credit.”

"Recognizing two people from the same organization clearly is testimony to the engagement and impact of this network of nonprofits operating throughout the country,” said Thompson. “The NPT accolades are appreciated, but the truest honor is the opportunity we get - every day - to work side by side with passionate, mission-focused professionals in the states and to solve problems together. For the public good."

“It’s been rewarding to see so many more nonprofits getting involved in different types of advocacy to advance their missions the last several years,” said Delaney. “Supporting and protecting the work of charitable nonprofits in local communities across the country requires a team of dedicated staff and board members working with and for our nationwide network of state associations of nonprofits, so I’m thrilled that NonProfit Times recognizes the vital contributions of my colleague David Thompson and our Board Chair, Donna Murray-Brown, leader of the Michigan Nonprofit Association.”
