Training for good works: Colorado Nonprofit Association offers unprecedented free help for members

The Colorado Nonprofit Association is extending its professional development training programs to member organizations statewide free of charge next year in what is believed to be the first such effort of its kind in the U.S. for a state nonprofit association.

Last year, about 3,600 people received training from CNA at $35 to $65 per session. But even at that cost level, it was a barrier to many organizations that were focused on directing as much of their contributed funds into actual programs and away from overhead.

“We are dedicated to strengthening the over 20,000 public charities in Colorado because they are crucial to a better quality of life in our state,” said Renny Fagan, President & CEO of Colorado Nonprofit Association. “By offering free, high-quality professional development to our members, we envision a stronger nonprofit community overall."
