Every Nebraskan benefits from a nonprofit organization every day. Nonprofits are essential to the quality of life in Nebraska and western Iowa.

The trust Omahans place in the nonprofits they donate to, volunteer for and support was shaken last week. The Nonprofit Association of the Midlands is the state association that serves nonprofits of all sizes and missions across Nebraska and western Iowa.


Serving on a nonprofit board of directors is serious business. Legal roles and ethical responsibilities must be taken seriously. Nonprofit board members, for nonprofits of any size, are the fiduciaries who steer the organization and are responsible for adopting sound, ethical and legal governance and financial management policies.
