Anchorage Proposes Taxes, Payments from Nonprofits

The Anchorage, Alaska Budget Advisory Commission recommended ending some property tax exemptions, including those applying to nonprofits, and calling for the collection of payments from tax-exempt nonprofits for essential services, such as police and fire services. The recommendations would require action by the State Legislature and City Assembly.
