Being a leader never comes without its challenges. This is especially true when times are hard and money is scarce. As nonprofit leaders, our attitude has a huge effect on the attitudes of our staff, funders and clients. How do we lead during the tough times?
John Baldoni, author of Lead by Example: 50 Ways Great Leaders Inspire Results, has excellent advice for nonprofit leaders. Baldoni will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2010 Statewide Conference in Oklahoma City. He suggests successful leaders must do four things: “set the right example, act the part, handle the tough stuff and put the team first.”
