The National Council of Nonprofits Adds Accomplished Public Relations Professional to Manage Communications

Washington, D.C. – The National Council of Nonprofits is pleased to announce Sara Koslow as the new Manager of Communications. Mrs. Koslow is a public relations and social media professional with eight years of experience helping nonprofits communicate their messages effectively and reach their target audiences both online and offline.

At the National Council, Mrs. Koslow will enhance the communications efforts of the organization by increasing public awareness about the National Council’s vital role of helping small and midsize nonprofits achieve greater impact in their communities and magnifying the voice of state and regional associations of nonprofits.

“Now, more than ever, the National Council provides a strong voice for nonprofit advocacy and we are thrilled to have Sara Koslow help us promote the value of the state association network as a vehicle for building the capacity of the nonprofit sector to effect change in peoples’ lives.” said Tim Delaney, President and CEO of the National Council.

With eight years of experience developing and implementing creative strategic communications plans for nonprofits, Mrs. Koslow played a key role in helping nonprofits with messaging, branding and utilizing social media. In her previous role as Online Communications Associate at The Children’s Defense Fund, she assisted with the strategic planning and execution of all online content and communication for CDF’s websites, e-mail publications and social networks. She created CDF’s first mobile advocacy campaign and launched CDF’s first video advocacy campaign which won the 2009 NTEN DoGooderTV Non-Profit Video Award.

In 2006, Mrs. Koslow joined the Online Advocacy team at Edelman Public Relations in Washington, D.C. where she worked with the ACLU to create a Restore Habeas Corpus Campaign. Koslow’s  public relations portfolio also includes work with The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. Mrs. Koslow graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
