Jenny approaches her work in the nonprofit sector from all angles: she has been a program volunteer, board member, senior staff member, legal adviser to and funder of nonprofits over the past 20+ years. As Vice President and Director of Network Support & Knowledge Sharing for the National Council of Nonprofits, Jenny wears many hats but her primary focus is to connect the National Council's network of state nonprofit associations with resources that build their capacity to support and serve their local community-based member organizations nationwide. Prior to joining the National Council in July 2009, Jenny served as Senior Counsel and Director of Special Projects for the Nonprofit Risk Management Center, a national nonprofit that helps other nonprofits understand and control risk. During 2006, Jenny served a one-year appointment as Assistant Project Director of the Panel on the Nonprofit Sector (convened by Independent Sector, Washington, DC) during the Panel’s development of the Principles of Good Governance and Ethical Practice. Prior to that, Jenny served as Deputy Director of Probono Partnership, a tax-exempt legal services provider for charitable organizations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Jenny served on numerous boards while she lived in New Jersey, including the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers, the Madison Area YMCA, the Overlook Hospital Foundation, Princeton Day School, and a faith-based community development corporation in Newark, New Jersey. She was appointed Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, served two terms on the New Jersey Governor’s Advisory Council on Volunteerism, and taught legal issues and ethics for the continuing education program of the Rutgers University School of Social Work. Jenny is a trustee of the Hyde and Watson Foundation, based in Warren, New Jersey and serves on the Advisory Board of the Masters of Public Administration/Public Policy program at American University, Department of Public Administration and Policy
