Emily Shewchuk joined the National Council team in August 2011. Before relocating to Washington, D.C, Emily worked in development, outreach, and event planning at the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. Emily is also an experienced customer service professional and spent nine years working in a variety of roles at Banana Republic retail stores. As a retail manager, she was responsible for creating a positive customer and employee experience and supervised all hiring and training of new employees. In addition, Emily led the company’s Boston district to participate in many fundraising events and formed key relationships with area nonprofits.  

Emily earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Boston University and a master of liberal arts in management from the Harvard University Extension School.
